HAH Center
John
Sichani, a Mechanical Engineer raised in Iran, has created
a new hand drumming technique so powerful that when he
plays his drum (called Tumbak), his audience is left mesmerized.
John has
performed in several concerts and international music
festivals in the United States. The most recent performances
were at the Asian Music Festival at Carnegie Mellon University,
The Pittsburgh American Wind Symphony, a concert dedicated
to Molavi (Rumi) and finally, the dedication concert of
Hafez and Goethe in Virginia. |
The HAH Melody
John carves
his Tumbak drum himself and composes the musical script
of his work. Realizing the potential for physical therapy,
John developed his technique for helping arthritic hands
and stress relief through the movement of ones hands
and fingers upon the drum. With this in place, John
began the development of the Helping Arthritic Hands
Center in an effort to help alleviate the pain resulting
from arthritic hands for those who are affected.
